N ot sure if youre including hunting rifles but I have a remington model 700 that I bought in 1982 ,its topped with a 3x9 Leupold scope and is chambered for 7mm rem mag.I loaded 61grs of 4350 powder behind 175gr Speer MagTip.I also used CCI Large Rifle Magnum Primers. This rifle still consistantly shoots one hole groups.

Model 70 Ranger in a .270 with a 4-12x leupold on it... (Scope cist double what the gun did)... No work done on it and is unmodified has shot like that from day one no matter what i feed it...
Bought it to replace a .243 with a washed out throat that I used on everything since I was 12.
Got it from a huy who bought it at an estate auction, we threw a 4x ruko scope on it with a post and I tried it out before bought it and cloverleafed at 100 yards...
Shoots better than many Custom rifles....
Definitely got lucky with that one!....

Most of my match rifles will go 1/2MOA when benched , the 22smallbore match rifles as well, but they are typically shot at 50 meters with irons, except when I shot 50BR.
However, mself being the biggest variable in the whole works, there are days I wonder untill I shoot them from the bench.

My Remington 700s.....22-250 VLSS (Bushnell 6500 2.5-16 x 50), and 7mm08 Boone & Crockett (Luepold VX3 3.5-10 x 40). Both floated and trigger tuned at Corlanes. Also, my Marlin 917VSF, in .17hmr (Bausch and Lomb 4500, 3.5-10 x 40), also trigger tuned at Corlanes. The rifles shoot better than the shooter that I am most times, but i have put some nice groups down range with them. I'm sure others could do much better with my rifles.

If the OP is refering to sub 1/2 MOA aggregates for 5 shot groups at 100M, then I wiill claim several...0ne factory 308 Rem 700 LTR, one factory 308 TC Icon----all others are 'custom' with trued Rem actions or Stiller or Barnard.... I have only one that I can count on to consisently shoot under 1/2MOA. Search "tackdriver" in this forum for group pics. I use Leupold scopes. Calibers include 6BR / 30 BR / 6.5 X 47 / 260 Rem / 308 Win.

oops, didn't read into the 1/2moa 5 shot aggregates at 100m, although my tikka varmint .204 does 1/2moa for 5 pretty easy at 100, i hunt when set up and zero's are done, while collecting drop data using 3 shots at 500 and 520 yrds and got sub half moa...so i voted for 1-2 category, and while zeroing with a buddy at 250 i walked into poi and then threw two more going .9 for another sub half moa 3 shot...everytime i throw a group down with it sure smile, factory federal ammo too, the 39gr sierra's

I have centerfires by Cooper(Phoenix and Jackson Hunter),Tikka(Varmint and tactical),Anschutz(1730HB), and a custom built on an RPA action that will shoot 1/2moa on a consistent basis.
For rimfires at 50 yards, I have Coopers(LVT and Jackson Hunter),Anschutz(1407 and 1907r),a Remington 541s and Brno Model 4.

I fluked into mine... An old 243 in a Remington model 700 BDL. Old enough to have the stock with the wide fore-end.
Its bedded on a beer tab and is a tack driver. None of my other rifles could be considered sub 1/2 MOA with me shooting them. Maybe make the cut on occassion, but never consistantly.

two 700's sps 204 (sold now) and XCR 300 RUM, ruger m77 mkii target in 22-250, vanguard varmint barrel in 223
none of my tikas make the list 0/3 which is interesting considering the responses here
also none of my savages make the cut 0/5
my x-bolt in 300 wsm is an honorable mention @.6" and if i worked on loads a bit i'm sure it could get closer if not there

rifles can but not always the shooter
My Xbolt Varmint Stalker can do it (22-250) and so can both my ZKK BRNO's (22-250 and 223), have also done it with 55 gr BT out of 243 with one ragged hole at 100 yards.
Trouble is the shooter and his eyes seem to be going downhill. Taught my boys to shoot over the last 15 years and now they can outshoot me with my own rifles. Not fair!

A few Sako m75's and couple Tikka T3's. All have Leupold scopes...majority VX3's with a VX2 and an older VAri-X III.
GREAT SHOOTERS.

My custom 280ai will do it, my custom 8mm rem mag and my ruger#1 375H&H but with it the hole size it is kind of hard to tell.lol.
But keeping in mind that if I do my job right they are capable of doing but some day I just plain suck! not the guns fault

All of mine are sub moa..... when James shoots them
With me shooting, the search continues.........
Well, that Sako A7 I bought from "209x50" is a sub moa rifle for sure so I guess I have one to my name. 30-06.
But that is hardly arguable since every bullet from a 30-06 is guided downrange by God himself, so its not really fair if you shoot 30-06 to participate in this thread

No target pics.
Rem 700 BDL in 6MM Rem -1980s Remington Custom Shop. Still wearing the original walnut. Topped with a VX2 3-9X40.
Husqvarna 3000 Crown Grade in 270Win. Original steel tube Weaver K4 6X. Amazing shooter.
Rem 700 BDL Varmint (1980s) in 243. Topped with a cheapo Bushnell 6-18X. Very tight groups. Wish I had kept this one.
Rem 700 Custom. 280 Rem on a Titanium action. Z5 Swaro 3.5-18 BRX
Sako 85 Finnlight, 270WSM. Z3 3-10X42 #4 reticle. 1/2 to 3/4 MOA.
Savage 9317 17HMR heavy barrel. Another cheapo Bushnell 6-18X. Will group .25" with cold barrel shots.

Savage model 10 predator in 223 with handloaded 55 gr blitz-kings. This gun will put 5 shots under an inch at 200 yards using a vortex viper 6-20x44. My most accurate rifle is a Savage model 16 weather warrior in 243 winchester. This gun has a Burris Signature 6-24x44. It shoots 75 gr Hornady HP to the same group no matter how hot the barrel. They sent going fast but man are they accurate.

My Tikka T3 lite in 270win has done it a couple of times off sand bags under the fore end but it is pretty easy to get moa with it consistently. My 17hmr savage has also done it once or twice but I wouldn't bet the farm on either of them unless it was in a lead sled. I would be the biggest variable and some days I'm on and some days I'm not.

This is from the Heym .300 Win Mag
This is a 500 yard target using my .270 Win
This is from my .240WBY
so is this...
This is from a .30-06 I used to own but have now sold also not mention above in my post.

I'm actually surprised at how many rifles are listed here, customs excluded. I don't doubt anyone, but in my limited experience, 1/2" hunting rifles aren't common (unless I'm just missing the question). Not to take away from an honest-to-goodness 1/2" rifle but I chuckle about the folks that fluke it once and declare their triumph . How many of these have done it once, or occasionally?
My best (with only a few owned rifles) is 1" with a bench rest buddy squeezing 3/4" out of it (.284 Win). He hasn't shot my 300WM but I get an inch to 1 1/8" out of it consistently, my personal talent considered
How tight are your 1 shot groups. Not kidding, hunting is one shot (hopefully). Do folks do "1 shot" shooting 'cold' and check their accuracy? Bench is great but there can be a world of difference between the shooting sports and field hunting. Can you put 1 bullet in a 1/2" cold? Or am I in the wrong thread?
