are they better than the old style that sit on the 20# tank or just more convenient?
Burn any cleaner?

those "flower" heaters burn too hot to be comfortable even on the lowest setting as far as i have found.
i find that i like to just take the chill off because once you're in a tent out of the wind it's not so bad after half an hour.

Order through Ebates and you’ll get 5% cash back too, that’s what I just did
I was originally just looking for the lil buddy heater but this is cheaper than I’ve seen the lil buddy on sale for

Does anyone know which model this is for?? It says MH18B which is the Big Buddy which makes this a great deal. But the Picture is of the MH9BX which is the smaller 9000btu unit. Not such a great deal.
I'd like the big buddy but don't want to get screwed if this is the old bait and switch.

That's why I usually avoid third party sellers, just buy from amazon direct or if it's fulfilled by them only. Whenever I had issues though, Amazon had the best customer service I have ever experienced online or with any other retailer. They have always refunded my money or sent out a replacement no questions asked.

I just ordered 1 as well. If I use it it will be with a 20lb bottle though and a hose. Or I will fill the little ones off a 40

If you do in fact get the Big Buddy heater that is a smoking deal. I already have a Big Buddy else I would snag one. Got mine for $119 at Canadian Tire last year plus seeing how they priced matched Wholesale Sports price i got 10% of the difference in Canadian Tire money. Was around $20 if I remember correctly.
If you are going to use a 20 lb bottle, make sure you get the filter from Mr Heater to attach to your heater.

Check the Amazon page and you will see it there. Running propane from a 20lb tank into your Buddy Heater can cause all sorts of issues from particulates from the tank and hose?? contaminating the heater. Know they say if you use the Mr Heater propane hose no need for the filter but I would still use the filter.
Only need one filter because if running from a 20lb tank only use one connection on the heater.
If you are in fact getting the 9000 btu model as pictured there is only one connection.
Can buy the filters at The Fishin Hole and a few other places for around $15 or so.

neat, i run lots of stuff off propane, like my house and a bbq etc.
i've never once used a filter but i looked it up and it appears to be legit.
you learn something everyday i guess

EZM first told me about the filter long before I owned a Big Buddy. Figure for $15 it is cheap piece of mind cause hate to be out in -30 fishing in the tent and have no heat.
