Default Slave Lake Narrows

I don't know any details, but somebody went through over Christmas while trying to tow out a shack. I think it was a bigger machine like a snow cat or something.
Maybe someone from that end of the lake has more details. I just heard it from a guy at work and figured I'd give a heads up to out of towners that go to that area.

Ya i heard the same, but never heard any details. The narrows i beleive is the last place to freeze solid on slave. I am crossing it off my list of places to fish this winter because of ice conditions. On years with good ice i hit spots there that were over 2ft of ice and 100yrds over not even 1 ft, just too much current through there.

Default Joussard

Talked to Bernie at LadyHawk on Monday. He is going to call me sometime today to let me know what the conditions are. I'm heading up on Jan 6 as well.
When I talked to him Monday he said the first truck drove on the ice that day. Ice is not as good this year because of the snow. Hopeing that everything will be okay by then.
Can't wait!!!!

Nine mile point on the east end had about 16-17 inches of ice 4 days ago. I beleive that area starts to freeze over faster than most parts of the lake

Not sure what the conditions are around joussard, i havent fished it in ages but if i remember correctly there was a big red ford that broke through that area last year. I remember it being a time that was already seeing alot of truck traffic. I am guessing from the report above if it is just seeing its first truck on monday or so it must not be good. Theres always that one idiot, lol
