After a few days indoors doing the Christmas thing, I decided I couldn't take any more. I phoned up a friend and we made plans to go fishing for a couple hours the next day. We showed up to the lake at about 9:15am. I was confident that we should get at least a few bites as this lake has never disapointed yet. We fished for almost 2 hours without so much as a bite. I couldn't understand it. We were just about to start packing up to go for a quad ride when my friend yelled out "I've got one". I looked behind me and her rod tip is bent almost right down the hole. I couldn't believe it. At first I thought maybe she was stuck on the bottom but after the drag on her reel started screaming I knew she really did have a fish on. After only a minute or two of fighting we managed to get this hog up the hole and you haven't seen two happier people! All said and done she measured 25 1/8" scaled in at 2.6kg (5.72lbs) and barely fit up an 8" hole. What a day!
