Default Trout lakes around Edmonton (gas powered boat)

Hey, I was wondering if there were any trout lakes around Edmonton that allowed gas powered boats that aren't too small? Anything closer than Carson or is that probably the closest one that is a decent size?

Thanks,

What is the exact ruling on the electric motor only lakes. If you have a gas outboard on it can you just put it all the way up and disconnect gas and not have the tank in the boat?

Or is it 100 percent that if your boat has a gas motor you arent allowed on the lake period?

If you have a gas motor mounted, whether it is in the water or not, whether fuel tank in the boat or not, will not be allowed on a public electric only lake.

That's from experience.

That depends on who you ask, I phoned F/W about 3 years ago about Star Lake and he said as long as the prop was out of the water.....no problem. This grey area has been going on for years and unless they just changed the wording, there is no where that it states you can not have a gas motor on your boat. You can not use the gas motor on posted "Electric Only" lakes but they can be on your boat (unless they just changed it).

The law is written such that it is illegal to use not have a gas motor on boat. The grey area becomes does a guy just have a gas motor or was he using it or planning to use it. Expect people to call you in and to get checked. My opinion is have the leg up out of the water, garbage bag duct taped around leg and no gas on board so motor is obviously inoperable. If you do this I don’t see how you could be charged.

Is this how the law is written for the parks too (Jasper/Banff) or is it different there? I've always been told that you can't physically have a gas motor on the boat there, which I assumed was to protect the water from gas/oil leakage.
