Default Stream access

Hi all

I recently moved to RMH from Vancouver Island. Now looking for some places to drown a fly and maybe rip the lips off a few trout.

I don't want anyone's honey hole or anything like that, I am just looking for info on accessing some of the streams around here.

I see that there is a good access point on the Clearwater river just south of Rocky on 752, but are there any other access points at other spots along the river?

There seems to be a few good looking streams in the area, Are they natural streams or irrigation type ditches? In either case, is it acceptable to just park along the road and wander along the stream? There are a lot of fences that run right up to the water. Do people mind if you walk around the fence to fish?

All responses are appreciated

Gerry

I use iHunter to make sure im not trespassing when im fishing, especially when im that far east. I'd argue its wise to never assume you're on public land. You're usually good to go from bridges, providing you stay below the high water mark.

One tool ive found very helpful for Alberta is their georeferenced PDF maps. You can open them in an app such as Avenza, and the your phones gps will tell you where you are on the pdf map. Here is the link for ghost PLUZ where there is plenty of great water to fish.

The vast majority of streams in Ab are owned by the people, you have the charter given right to access the water.... that said don't cross private land to get there
