Crawling Valley Friday May 20

Just a quick update from "very poor Pike Fishers" hopefuls. No wind and 18 yesterday. We tried flinging iron to the shallows say 2' to 10' of water, trolling iron and bait at depths from 6' to 15', no luck. Caught just one smallish pike in 10' of water jigging on bottom. spend 4 hours on the lake, surface water temp. rose from 10.5 to 12 degrees from 9 til 1. Lots of bugs, that is what help decide enuff was enuff, an we came off the Lake.
The swallows, terns, lots of other birds as well as some fish were having a field day on the bounty of bugs.
But with no wind the clouds of bugs our fishing results were 2 much and we came off the lake. Talked with others and no one appeared to be having much luck.
Still a nice day outdoors is great, the nice couple from last year have the contract for the campground again this year. So likley we can look forward to some improvements that they can implement.

hmmm...i'm suspicious....that's exactly how i'd attempt to keep people out of my honey hole!!

was there last weekend in the huricane fished the bay on the west side of the campground caught some nice walleye and quite a few pike though most were small but not all

I've never been there....are you able to keep any walleye there?...being lazy...guess i could check the regs.

Nope catch and release only, some nice ones in there though.
