Default Spring goose hunt

Had some fun this spring testing the new blind and working the dogs. I didn't realize I had so many gun jams. looks like its time to look into replacing it.

thought I would share with the waterfowls out there

Nice shoot. Interesting roof you have on the blinds, do you have a pic of them from the inside?

What kind of gun, maybe it can be fixed or cleaned to run better? Cool video, thanks for sharing.

The lids are neat idea.

You probably already know this, but if you find you getting mostly flaring birds for the first shot, you may want to try opening the lids gradually and coming up slower to shoot.

The act of popping open lids quickly really draws attention to your position. Birds coming in on deck can really get out of Dodge quickly if the wind is strong,,, but if you can get the birds continue coming in as you "unconceal" yourself, you can get an easier first shot and better second and third shots too.

The old pop up goose chairs were really bad for creating flaring birds ,,, biggest reason we quit using them. Same principle applies for layouts too.

One reason I love the hay bale blinds, front just slips down, very unnoticeable

Good advice....especially if your shooting alone and don't have to worry about anyone else getting up quickly.

lets see if this link works:

View from inside

I'll see if I can slow the hatch down somehow. that would help. I added the roof cause they kept spooking when they flew over and got a good look inside.

thanks
