Default Fishing goldeye by the lions campground Red Deer

Just wondering if you can walk and wade out of the campground in Red Deer at the lions campground. Would like to know if the goldeye are around this area. If I cant go to the gathering down (Freezing rain) south I may go here for the weekend and fish goldeye!!!!!

I think as low as the water is if you can find any spots with a couple feet of water you'll find fish. Right across from that campground a little creek runs in thats a pretty good spot. You should be able to walk across the river no problem.
Lot's of other good spots near by too, on the river.

There's a paved trail between the campground and the river. Follow it away from the bridge towards the end of the campground and there's a small path to the river. Great fishing spot. Watched some newfies the other night having a blast pulling Goldeye out!

A small brown may be around there if your luck is right as well!

Cheers

Back eddies always worked best for me. I fished the seam. Black dries on the surface or black leeches stripped through the seem. If using streamers be forewarned they can't often strike towards the retrieve so set on sudden slack as well as tugs.
