Thumbs up Sons first fish all by himself

Tonight me and my 5.5yr old boy went out looking for some pike from shore, but ended up finding a decent little perch hole instead, so i rigged him up with a little bobber and he finally got his first fish all by himself, one that he baited the hook, casted it out, reeled it in and took it off the hook, lol! (usually its just reeling in dads, but he has had a couple close calls before spin casting for trout). After he got one in, there was no stopping him and we finally pulled the plug after he caught 16 and kept 7.....none of them were huge, but he was just so happy to be able to bring some home for mom that i couldnt say no to keeping them, haha.

I have had quite a bit of trouble getting him a fish of his own.....he shot his first coyote all by himself (off a tripod rest of course) at 4.5, and he's darn deadly with his savage little rascal single shot .22 in the pasture on gophers, but the fish have been harder to get for him.....im sure that says something about dads skills as well, lol.

The best part was the first words out of his mouth after landing the first one were "finally, my dream came true"!!! i couldnt have been happier, and cant wait to get out again soon!

Little fella has the fish fever now, keep him away from boat shows or his fishing rig will go from $5 to $50 000

Nicely done 300 as always! I'm still shocked with that kids shooting abilities. Perhaps he'll overtake dad with the fishing skills
