Afternoon,
I'm looking for a reputable fishing charter for a day out in Prince Rupert. Someone who has a good track record and nice boat. Thanks in advance..

Boss, we aren't out there anymore, but I know a few guys who may be available depending on timing.
Send me a pm with your info.

I was out there in May and had a couple of great days out with Jeff from
BC Style fishing charters. He also owns a tackle and hunting shop, J&E Tackle.
Tackle shop # 250-624-3545 Jeff's cell 250-624-1900. He also has a suite over the tackle shop that he rents out cheaper than the local motels.
He has an older boat that runs really well, also does crab traps. Very knowledgable and a really good guy.
If he is busy he knows all the other guides and will do his best to set you up with someone.

Paul has a great boat, knows how to use it, and will work his butt off to get you on the fish, but when I talked to him at the Sportsman's show, he didn't have too many dates left. Definitely give him a call, though.

I have been out with Kevin Wiley w/ Northern Bounty a few times. Good guy, highly recommended him.

We were SUPPOSED to go with Kevin, but he had engine troubles. He did have other boats he could have taken us out on, but left us to an underling with the older boat.
The part that killed me was when the guide asked Kevin, right in front of me on the first day, "should I take them to the outside"?"
Kevin replied, "No, they've already paid."
Lucky for me, I did bring some tackle along, as the Guide had next to nothing on his boat for tackle and his bait was burned with blown bellies from days in the brine.
Kevin did manage to take a few other guys out the next day though, even though we were promised that he would be "the guy".
We were stuck with a guy with a bad back for two days, and ANGRY JOHN!!!!! the last day.

I do not believe that Kevin Wiley is personally guiding anymore. He might on his days off, but he has a full time job with the Port now.

Last time I was out we went with Tom Sweet http://www.orcafishing.com/ He got us onto some fish, has a nice boat and is full of great stories.
This was a number of years ago, not sure if he's still out there, but he's another option.

Dave eng with sunset charters is hands down the best in rupert. Just got back from our second annual trip with him. Loads of springs and cohos and halibut. Great boats and top quality gear and a great guy who truly cares about the fishery and isn't out there to kill everything he catches like so many of the guys out there are.
