It ranges depending on the tile, size and the application:
Start 12x12 or 13x13 on floor is about $4-5 per square. If you find it cheaper I'd be worried.
12x 24 porcelain with soft edges straight lay $4-6 stagger $5-7
12x12 or 12x24 marble or travertine $8-10 Straight edges are tougher to lay to avoid lippage.
Glass backslash and plends cost more and any borders are all extra.
Showers and tub surround are going to cost you more
tub low 4x6 $400-500 ceramic 12x12 $500-600 12x24 $700-800
borders, drypack all extra.
Pm me if you need anymore help!

That is almost an impossible question to answer.
It's like asking "how much is a car?"

There are so many factors involved. What type of tile. What material. What size it is. Where it's going. What the substrate is. How large the area is.
Tile can be installed as cheap as $3.00/sq ft right on up to over $25/sq ft.
Smaller areas like a kitchen splash, you can't really go by a sq ft price. If it's a small kitchen splash with glass tile or a natural stone like travertine marble or slate, that can take up to 2 days or more. A good tradesman needs to profit around $500/day. So you could easily expect to pay over a $1,000 for that splash. Or if it's a simple backsplash with 6x6 wall tile, it could be done in a few hours.

DIY, Buy a $70.00 tile saw and get-er done. Save some bucks. Just make sure every thing is str8 and plumb. Did my own kitchen floor, bath floor, tub surround, stairs to the basement. Probly saved $3000 and looks as good as any pro would have done. Ran my tile on a diagonal and not sq to the walls, best thing I could have done. More cutting and a little harder to do but it looks great. Take your time and make sure all your lines are str8 and the tiles are level to each other. Do a little at a time, stand back look at it and do a little more.
