Default What to do in Vegas??

My wife and I are heading to Vegas for the first time and I am looking for suggestions for things to do and places to eat. I would like to do a bit of a hike one day and see hoover dam but outside of that I don't have a clue what to do down there for the 5 days.

Wife may want to do outlet mall or two. great bargains. Shows for sure. Hit at least one Cirque show. You could spend a couple days going up and down the strip (between lounge-hopping) just checking out the hotels. Definitely some hiking. http://hikinglasvegas.com/

Whatever you do, commit at least one night to drunken debauchery and awesomeness! It's Vegas afterall....

Seriously though, if the Terry Fator show is still running, he is an excellent comedian, singer, and vantrilliquist. Great show!

My wife will want to hit the outlet malls, are there any you recommend? We will rent a vehicle for a couple of days so travelling a distance wont be a problem.

NASCAR race on March 10th gets my vote. 3rd race of the year.

I never been to Vegas either but this would be on my list.

Gun store was fun and drove a Lambo at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The buffet at the Bellagio is good. We also ate at a resturant at the Palazzo called Morels and it was very good but $$$$. Get reservations later in the week and on the weekend. Things fill up quick. Also went to Crique Show O and it was great. Blue Man Group just OK. Outlet malls were painful for me but the chief liked them. Have fun.

There's at least a couple of them. One is more "High end" than the other so choose according to her preferences and budget.Hotel staff will be able to direct you.

Take cabs - you won't use a rental car very much. There is a north and south outlet mall and a large mall with all the big name stores across from the Palazzo on the strip. We liked the north outlet more but they are pretty similar.

x2, over a hotel shuttle bus.

And for a really tacky dining experience, and the BIGGEST breakfast you have ever had, hit the Peppermill on the strip.

Food was overflowing the plate. My wife pointed to her enormous omlette and asked the waitress how many eggs were in it. "10" she replied. Could have fed all 4 of us. Ridiculous.

Oh, you will be handed little flyers on the street (again and again) advertising other things to do in Vegas, in the privacy of your hotel room... within 30 minutes of your call, guaranteed. Make sure you look suitably disgusted by the proposal when your wife looks at you. LOL

Did a quad tour of the Valley of Fire out of Logandale that was amazing. Very dusty-so helpful to have some scrub clothes you can wear.
Grand Canyon south rim by car that took us through the Hoover Dam.
All the hotels will shuttle you to the outlet malls.
Freemont at night.

Last person who asked me that question, told her if you've got to ask, you don't know how to have a good time. So much to do, don't just take one of those three day getaways like they suggested to my BIL. Don't think they ever did get to sleep while they were there with us. We had a week and it wasn't long enough.

Helicopter tours of the Grand Canyon.

And well it's Vegas, if it's legal or not you can do it there.

Here's one those culprits passing them out.

Build a Snowman at the Grand Canyon. Guy Had to be from Canada.

Default Belagio hotel

Make sure you go to the Belagio hotel for smorgasbord! There is a fellow out front who does a half decent sketch. Tournament of Kings is pretty good.

Thanks for all the suggestions!! This helps a lot. I was thinking hoover dam but I would probably be more interested in the Grand Canyon tour.

The swap meet is on Thurs-Sat good for those mornings after. They have 200 booths with everything from jewelery to stun guns

4211 Paradise Road, Paradise Shopping Center, Las Vegas, NV 89169, USA

Lots of cheap Vegas souviners 1/2 price compared to the strip don't forget to haggle!

Theres a gun show at the sports center on Feb 16

Headin down in a couple of weeks too. Terry Fator is still there. We have tickets to that one. Also hitting the Tim and Faith show. Gun store is on the list again. It's pretty cool pounding bullets out of the autos. Likely do a walk through Bass Pro while the girls are at the outlets. Lose a little cash at the tables, tip back a couple, and we usually hit the piano bar at New York New York.

x2 but don't eat and drink there, food is horrible and the drinks are expensive
but for the rest it is hillarious.

We were there 2 weeks ago for the first time, and we will be back it is amazing, go to Fremont street at night, it is cool, and have a burger at the Heart attach grill,

We rented a car for the day and drove to the hooverdam, as well around a bit thru the country.

If you want a real good burger go to Gordon Ramsay Burgr bar in the Plannet Hollywood.

Just walk thru all the hotels itself like New york New york even the MGM all those hotels are an amusement park by itself.

Have fun.

I just thought of another good tour from Vegas
Go South, stop in at Hoover dam then go to Kingman get on the old Route 66 highway to topoc, The old highway is very scenic when you go over the moutains, stop in the ghost town of Oatman, they have mock gunfights and you can feed the wild Burrows

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7jfbxEya_4

You come out at Topoc then come back on the California side for the drive back to Vegas

Driving to the Grand canyon is a really long day because the best view is on the South rim about a 5 hour drive from vegas

Playing spot the hooker with your wife is always good for a laugh.
Cleopatra barge in Ceasars is great spot for that.

Go for a drink on the water level at Belagio. Best view of the fountains.

Drink, gamble, shop
Another cool thing is to sit in Ceasars sports book, bet on silly dog races and your wife can shop at Ceasars!

Have fun

Oh yeah
If you gamble, play table games. Don't be a slot jockey.
If you don't know how, take lessons

Tables is how you need to roll!!

Dress up as well, Lady Luck smiles on a guy with shinned shoes.
