Default Things to do

A lot of people have covered some good points here above

Food:
Peppermill - Yes, tacky but excellent food, good price....huge portions. Celebrity watching.

Hofbrauhaus - German food, big beers, very authentic (been to the real one!) good and loud band. Take a cab, or park in their lot, if you park across the street you may have your car booted and it costs $200.00 to have it removed.

Friday night seafood Buffet at the Orleans, best in town, have a bowl of the chowder!

VooDoo lounge on the roof of the Rio, go in the afternoon and take a camera.

Out of town/off strip:

Fire State Park about an hour north, very much worth the trip.

Red Rock Canyon, west side of Vegas about 20 mins from the strip, mini version of Fire State Park, good desert interpretive centre.

Boulder, on the way to Hoover Dam - Bootleg Canyon Zip Line - bit pricey to some, must be under 250 lbs, absolutely a hoot. Great staff, very safe. Can be picked up on the strip.

The name of the town with the burros is Oatman, Kingman is in Arizona, a good place for pictures, head south to Laughlin and then to Oatman.

Your also close to Death Valley the interpretive center there is great, it is a park so you will have to pay to get in, but you can buy a ticket from a machine at the entrance.

Other - Shopping is shopping don't be fooled by the size of the mall or the name "outlet" means lower prices, but you will find bargains. Get a map and go to one of the malls away from the strip. Check out Costco.

Go to Lee's Discount Liquor good prices, but you will have to put the liquor in your luggage, and declare it on return. But even if you go over limit the duty will still not add up to our prices, depending on what you buy.

If you like Electronic go to Fry's south on the strip, huge, but the prices for electronics are not much different than home, but you could find a bargain.

Shows, depends on what you want to afford.

So much to tell so little time.

Have fun!

Go to the Miracle Mile shops in Planet Hollywood and sit at the BAR in the Oyster Bay Seafood and wine bar. Glasses of wine as 2 for 1 at the bar in the evenings and the place is great if you like oysters and seafood. We usually get a dozen oysters, a seafood platter special, and about 5 glasses of wine each with bread and a vinegar/oil dip. The bill is only like 50 so it is one of the better deals in Vegas if looking for a snack.

SeaBlue is a restaurant in the back of the MGM and also has a happy hour with $1 oysters and huge shrimp. It's my last stop before hitting the airport.

If you are going to play slot tip the girls a buck a drink and they'll be back after 5 minutes which will make everyone mad around you

The Gunstore was fun for machine guns, etc. I think it was like 250 or something for a coalition package with AK47, belt fed machine gun, handguns and a bunch of tee shirts.

Try the deuce bus with a 48 hour pass for like 10 bucks which will get you to the premium outlets and Freemont Street to check out old las vegas with shows daily in the evening on the covered ceiling which is a huge computerized screen.

Vegas can be everything and anything you want it to be from cheap to outrageous and from family to outrageous.

The Cirque shows are good, and the prix fixe menus are good at the upper end restaurants to get a fixed course meal which won't be 500...

The strip is the most patrolled are in the world and is quite safe... The rest of the place not so much though...

The Spearmint Rhino is also quite nice or so I hear

Default Clarke County Range

Go to Clarke County Range and rent a shotgun and shoot skeet, clays, or traps. Can also rent a 22 cal pistol and shoot at the pistol and rifle range. The facility is 5000 acres, a very nice set up, and reasonably priced. Make sure to take earplugs as people are shooting shotgun slugs, 9mm pistols, 50 bmg guns.

Go to Black Canyon and rent a boat for the day and drive up the river to near the Hoover Dam.

Check out a show or two if you have time and are so inclined. Mystere' is a great show, but anything Cirque Du Soliel should be great to see.
