Default Burrowing hogs

Was travelling around looking for spots to hunt this fall and picking mushrooms and happened to find some hog activity. Looks like some bad damage.

Looks interesting. What makes you think that wild hogs did this?

Well my cousins live in the area and have shot them there before plus what else burrows like a hog?

I could be wrong but they did say hogs burrow like this in the forest.

That's not "burrowing", IMO... That's "rooting".

A burrow would indicate a hole or tunnel...

Quote:
bur·row
ˈbərō/
noun
1.
a hole or tunnel dug by a small animal, especially a rabbit, as a dwelling.
synonyms: hole, tunnel, warren, dugout; More
verb
1.
(of an animal) make a hole or tunnel, especially to use as a dwelling.
"moles burrowing away underground"
synonyms: tunnel, dig (out), excavate, grub, mine, bore, channel
But yes, it looks like last years hog activities...

Heres another hint Glosszz. Those pics could be showing anything from some quad damage on the forest floor, to a group of girlguides trying to clear out an area to set out threre tents. Don;t get me wrong, but till you have some better proof that you have found a hog habitat, i shall remain a sceptic. Good luck though. look foreward to some pics of wild hogs.

It's hard to assess the damage in this photo. I need to come up to assess the damage on site. Please forward me the location and I will be there in a jiffy

Looks like hogs rooting to me. 20 years ago some hogs had burrows in a muskeg on a grazing reserve. Took a few years to get them under control.
