Default QAD fall away rest not falling. Help

19 yards of a good bull, shoots, arrow lands 10 feet in front of Bull.
Heard weird noise upon shooting, the rest just stayed in the vertical position.
Dang thing worked flawless up to that shot.

Input please.

Who installed it for you? Take a picture of how the down cable is attached.... usually it's poor installation that does this.

I have them on 4 bows that see a lot of use....never had an issue.

Quick trip into sherwood Park and TandT fixed me up. From what i see happened, it was an act of God to prevent me from shooting a smaller Bull!

Awesome trip, just a learning curve with tbe fall away rests. Ol whisker biscuit guy before this lol

Im going to have to say No! But that being said, i shot at a decent bull and it did not fall away. Tinkered with it the next morning, still didnt fall.
Walked into T and T, first arrow, it worked flawlessly.

Im going to say it was an act of God stopping me from arrowing the smaller Bull!

Murphys law says anything with 22 moving parts including a timing cord hanging out there...that eventually there WILL be a failure...

Missed out on several good critters to moving part rests hence why I am still a huge fan of Ugly Cookie / WB...zero moving parts...
As with any rest set up correctly the Ugly Cookie is quite and super accurate...

With a drop away or rest that has moving parts never use commerial spray lubicants or oils, as they can seize up when dirty or in cooler weather, which may have been the case here...

Use a powdered graphite for lube...same goes for entire bow tackle, if we need a lubicant we only use powdered graphite [only exception is we use lithium grease on limb bolts when bow is torn down]...
amazing stuff that doesnt freeze or build up dirt...

I have been using a qad rest for a few years and have had no problems and the first one I had saw a lot of rain and some snow. If I ever had it fail though without Being able to find out why I probably would never be able to trust it again and would most likely have to swap it out for something else. But for now all is good

I too have had issues with QAD. Bowtechs said it was faulty tried to send it back to QAD and never got any replies for warranty.

They dont just fail and then fix themselves.

QAD was great when I asked about the new LW1 launcher specific to Bowtech bows....sent me 5 launchers and all the hardware and the dampening pads for free.

I put about 20,000 shots through one and it started dropping early, worn out?. Sent it to QAD and they replaced it, no questions asked.

Same thing happened to me on a big bull last year. I had it looked at and some adjustments were made but do I trust that it will never happen again? Not a chance. Best thing a guy can do is shoot LOTS or simplify the set up.

I hear good things about the QAD and their warranty. I shoot a trophy ridge smackdown bit cheaper and I find it to be a good rest just my 2 cents.

Default Whisker......

Whisker biscuit. All day long. Plus 40 to minus 40. That's the ticket. Lost arrow and a friend of mine in Wain town who has 6 bulls over 310" with the bow, biggest settling in at 363" have always used WB, ugly cookie. So I say never use something that fails. And plus Pigman is cool. He shoots em to 100yds ; )

You fall away did what its supposed to, fall away( wrong time of course). Sorry. Had to.
