Default Used Stihl

I'm looking for a used Stihl saw, either an 026, 260, or if the price is right a 261. Besides kijiji does anyone know where to find one?

I'm looking for a nice saw for limbing and the 026,260,261 would be the perfect size for this so I'm looking for the saw in running condition.

Corey, youre not sure you want to sell it...... So there is a chance

Blgoodbrand, that 372 is a nice saw, I have the Stihl 441 C with auto tune, she goes like a beaver on speed!

Lol, I just had my two huskies ripped off this past spring, I still have one left that rides in the side by side. I'm not sure about their box store models, but Stihl's pro series saws seem to be a nice saw. I'm not sure if you've ran a 441 C before, but man, easy starting and smooth running. If I'm not mistaken I think they're even running a little more hp than the 372.

Neighbor still knocking trees down across crown land? great saws. My uncle has one. If your on Facebook try the buy and sells for your area. Have found some good deals there.

My buddy has a 440 with a 32" bar running a skip tooth. I ran it a bunch while taking my saw ticket, no complaints here.

I've never ran one, but from what I hear the 441 C is a big improvement over the 440.

I know saws are like trucks/guns/bows/reels, everyone has their brand, but like everything else, I like to try out a variety. This is my first experience with Stihl, up until now its just been huskies because they lasted so long (until someone steals them). I got a smoking deal on this 441 though so I couldn't pass it up.

Funny guy......

I'm not on fb, but I know a few people who are, maybe I'll ask around.

Not positive, but about the neighbours, either they're on vacation or the fact it looks like a dozer cleared the cutline after they pulled that stunt and I showed them what 4 hours with a saw and a couple axes will do, they seemed to have given up. I imagine come October 31 they'll probably be back in there messing around, but I plan on being back there with them, only this time I'll be packing a bit bigger saw so I can clear out the road allowance.

I am a bit fussy about saws and what I use for which. I afpctually find the 026 a hair on the big side for limbing, which is what I would rep,ace it with is something a bit smaller for limbing. Buddy has one and the 026 feels light until you limb a couple trees, with his. I forget what model it is but I was kind of jealous of it and contemplated selling the 026. However that said, it's a better utility all around the farm saw so I think I am going to have to keep it because a smaller limbing saw would mean I would have to haul the 290 around for chores and that's too big. I have four saws and would need to go to five to cover all the in betweens. See what I mean. Fussy. Good luck with your search all the same.

I would go right to some dealers, lotsa guys trade in for something newer or bigger or pawn off, plus they will give you some type of warranty,it won't be long and even if there is no warramty since you bought from them most dealers will help you, buying a used saw unless it's in mint shape I would be careful, I just bought a used husky from a dealer and it runs great.I prefer my brand of saw but that doesn't mean some other makes are all no good, plus there is saw's that can do it all unless your a logger or faller, then you need to step it up to the top of the line if it's your living. You work a lot harder with a small saw depending on the amount off work.

This is a good idea. The city's urban forestry drops theirs at pawn shops, well maintained, though it's not an annual thing.

I'd avoid the 261.
I bought my brother a 260 and it ran for him for about 4 years of 5 days a week hard professional use before he retired it to a backup saw. It's still going now after 7 years.
He bought a 261. It was junk in 4 months. Bought another 261. This one lasted 6 months.

He then switched to husky. He now runs the 550xp or 560xp for most general saw work.

I followed his lead and last winter bought a 550xpg with heated carb and handles and the 562xpgw with full wrap.
Both are awesome saws and the auto tune is great for the extreme changes in weather we get here. I've used the saws at -30 and plus 30 and it's so nice to hear the saw tune itself to run perfectly.

So did the one my buddy had.... it just would die every time you left off the throttle. But when she ran, it was some sweet!

I have a Stihl saw that has very little hours on it. 62cc comes with extra bar and chain and carrying case. Asking $475 for it. Call me at 780-531-1335
