Default Game camera tampered

Went out to check my camera today (WMU 250 private land) and found it about 5 feet from the tree, but the mount was still strapped tightly around the tree. It has a bunch of scratches and what look like teeth marks on the camera casing.

Any ideas what might have caused this?

Default Trail cams

Bears, not sure what the attraction is, but bears love pulling cameras off trees. I even go as far as wearing rubber gloves and spraying them with scent killer. They still find them.

My thoughts are, electronics and plastics give off a scent when warmed, bears have unbelievable noses.

Bears LOVE plastic. Plastic gas cans, those blue water containers, quad seats, argos, empty coolers even when they are open, basically anything plastic they will glomb onto it.

Young bear perhaps. Had a few chewed on by the bears, coyote took one off a tree that I had mounted too low,(found it 50 feet away) two legged critters have taken one, turned one off and downloaded the pics off another.

Came across one the other day that was faded and still in place from last summer, suspecting something wrong I texted the young fellow. Turns out he leaves it out all year and checks it once in a while. We were both amazed that it was still there, it's on public land, right on a pathway.

I have a couple cams with the same bite marks. Bears seem to like them.

I would say bear. I have had a few chew on.

But better yet check your pics for what did it!
Its a camera, it should have taken a pic or two... just saying.

I’d agree with bear. I’ve had deer chew on a few of mine, great photos lol

Deer chew marks are wide, like you would expect from your front two teeth scraping the skin off an apple. Those look like incisor marks from a meat eater.

Them bears will chew on anything just in case there is something good inside, extremely curious.

Nothing is obvious on this forum. Lol
There are a lot of post before checking things out.

The chew marks are on the front as well. Hopefully he got a few pics of black hair or brown nose, some identifier. I know that's how I knew bear on mine. Chew marks were on the front and have a nice shot of a bear face just before pics of the ground.
