Default 156 gr Berger EOL load for 6.5x55

For those who have an interest in these newer bullets in this cartridge,
I finally got my powder & charge weight down for my new RKS 24" 7.5 gain twist barrel. I realized good velocity with 50.3 gr RL-26 at a surprising 2860 av MV. Voere Titan II action.

Bullet seated to 3.220 OAL. CCI 200 primer. Absolutely no pressure issues with new R-P brass.

Hope to get out in the next couple of days and find the sweet spot in that velocity range.

2860??? wow, that's traveling. Best i could do with the 160 woodleigh's was 2630 with H4831sc.

My next powders were going to be VN560 and H1000. I really enjoy the 6.5x55. Its one of my favorites

I know that sounds unreal but my Magnetospeed V3 hasn't lied to me yet.
That bullet is 1.51 in long and has a bearing surface of only.535. ( BC .679) Woodleigh 160 RN saw only 2658 out of a very similar barrel but it is quite a different bullet profile. Brian Litz seems to know his stuff real well.

I found a very consistent load at 2911 with my 6.5x284
Using n570 I could get way faster velocities but lost the consistency and accuracy
2900 fps muzzle velocity with bergers I’ve found to be very lethal

That is a bullet and powder I wanted to try in my 6.5x55. That was until I discovered Winchester put a 1 in 9 twist in my rifle. Great to see that kind of velocityout of the old Swede.
