Default Tactical shotguns

Anyone else interested in tactical shotguns? I put this one together from parts n bits I picked up. The 870 recever, knoxx stock and rhino rail I picked up on the ee on cgn, the +2 mag extention was in the surplus room @ Milarm I bought the 18" barrel new , the laser, holo sights and mbus are all from eBay.

Looks like there's little love for tactical shotties on this forum!

I'll post this picture of mine -not because it's a good one, but it's the only one I have on the computer at the moment and it seems like you could use whatever company there is.

From left to right:

1. Maverick 88 18.5 with Knoxx adjustable stock and Mesa side saddle. If I'm doing any walking, this is the one I carry. It's way lighter than the other two and, because of the adjustable stock, a much shorter overall length. I imagine this is what I will carry on my back when I'm out scrounging for food after the zombie apocalypse.

2. Western Auto Revelation. Mossberg 500, but marketed under a different name. This is well used and in stock form. Not worth mentioning except it happens to be in the photo.

3. Mossberg Persuader. Much heavier than the Maverick, holds 8 shots. Much comfier to shoot. Has a saddle-mount optic rail. Nothing on it in the picture, but I have something in the mail that will soon fill it up... There is a Limbsaver recoil pad and Hogue stock and foreend on it too.

This is my favorite shotgun. I'm contemplating adding a speedfeed stock just so I can have more shells on hand and because I like guns that are balanced more towards the rear. But I really like the rubbery feel of the Hogue so much that I might just leave it as-is. I'll see how I feel after I mount the optic.

Also... if I get the SpeedFeed, I've been playing with the idea of switching the side-saddle over to the Persuader just so the gun can hold 17 shells!

I like SXS shorty's myself.
Had an outlaw for a while but a friend made me an offer that was just too good to turn down.
As far as the new stuff goes, I don't detest them , but they interest me about as much as a tac rifle or a semi auto pistol.

I like the look of the mossberg with the chainsaw grip, it looks like it was made for a lumberjack ninja

Are lumberjack ninjas at all related to lumberjack commando's? Because those guys are badass.

I like the tactical shotty approach, but a little less accessorized than that; the rail just looks like lots of weight to me.

I like this approach: http://www.remington.com/products/fi...-tactical.aspx
It would be nice with a Knoxx Spec Ops pistol grip stock and a Hogue overmolded foreend.

This ones nice too: http://www.remington.com/products/fi...tacs-camo.aspx

I had seen a black railed double barreled coach gun that looked pretty sweet; anyone know who makes it?

Practical tactical are the shotguns used in IPSC 3-gun or multi-gun matches.

Some I've seen used and have borrowed feature a pistol grip (not always), some sort of high viz open sights or quick acquisition peeps, speed-loader lugs, extd. mag tube and a large racking lever to help clear malfs or extract stubborn hulls (they were semi-autos). Some of them would chamber soon as you pushed a round against the shell lifter.

I don't remember seeing rails and go-fast doodads hanging all over the gun.

Whatever floats your boat. If you take all that crap off of it you might have a quick handling effective shotgun rather than a useless accessory rack with a shotgun hidden in it somewhere. What you have there is as close to useless as you can get for a personal defence weapon. That thing will get totally tangled in a trenchcoat, someone with a nice short light side by side double will have two rounds into you and be reloaded before you get that thing untangled and ready to go...

I am on the list from Lanz Shooting Supplies out of Ontario. Quite a lineup already, don't know how long it is now, but when I ordered they were up to about 70. There are six Kel Tec dealers in Canada IIRC, don't know how long lists are at the others. Look up Vault Distribution online, they are the importer and have a list of dealers.

I think that is one of the coolest shot guns ever, and **** on anyone who doesn't like it.

Does anyone really keep their gun in a trench coat? Like... besides kids who shoot up schools?

You crazy albertans!

Who actually owns a trench coat? I have never seen a real life trench coat and don't know anyone who owns one. Maybe we need a trench coat registry, anyone who owns one is a homicidal lunatic and needs to be watched lol

That... is so damned ugly.

'Tactical' guns are the rice burners of the gun world.
