i pulled the foot pedal cover off and played with the contacts, they are all sealed and are snap contacts as pressure is applied. no loose wires.

the little display on the motor shows full battery strength but I plugged it in anyway's for the night. I can hear a small whine in the base of the motor as i push contacts, almost like a really weak battery.

You can try getting a hold of their support here. I've dealt with them for my motor, and they were very responsive and helpful.

For diagrams and exploded parts views, you can look up your motor here.

Hop you get it going again soon!

shouldnt this be under warranty if the boat is new?
i'd call the dealer who sold you the boat, everything on my boat was covered for 3 years

If you can swing it, try to switch that PowerDrive out for a Terrova instead of just exchanging the motor. The pedal on the Terrova is substantially better. I haven't played with the Ulterra yet, although I kind of wish I had gone that route.

As an aside, my old MinnKota had the same kind of issue when the batteries were depleted. It was even worse after my battery was a few years old and wouldn't take a charge completely. My new Terrova iPilot Link motor has had zero issues. 24 V, 80lb thrust.

I bought the boat out of GP as it was a left over '15 and was exactly what i wanted. I live in red deer, ill only go back for serious warranty work.

Wouldn't take much to box the motor up and ship it to GP if they are willing to exchange it. No need to take the whole boat back.

At the very least get them to exchange the pedal out. I bought a new old stock '15 this year from Barry Jays. Got it to SK and put it on our lift when I found a small pinhole in the tarp. Talked to them and they ordered me a brand new tarp, patched the one I had for the interim and swapped them out within a couple weeks. I can't see why your dealer wouldn't treat your situation the same.

Buy a can of Lectra Clean or a pressurized can of contact cleaner, spray it all down with prejudice. Water in an electrical circuit can cause all kinds of weird headaches and this is the first thing to try, usually the culprit.

If your pedal cant be repaired and you have to buy a new one I would consider going with a remote co-pilot instead. There about 200 bucks, easy to install and much more versatile.

Forget co-pilot, go ipilot. No peddle, easy remote, with many extra features co pilot does not have. I don't know how I fished without mine, it's indispensable.
