Default Information on Chip Lake

Hi,

Does anyone have info on how the fishing is at Chip lake in zone ES3? Is there any shore fishing and parking near the lake? Thank you.

Default Chip lake

Sadly chip lake is apparently nothing more then a slough in summer that gets choked with weed growth. Its maximum depth is maybe 8-10 feet, i have only heard of people ice fishing it for hammer handles and eelpout
People ice fish the lake go near the island and the river that flows into chip on the south west end of the lake.

On the southwest end of the lake there is some crown land near highway 16 if memory serves correct, and also if you drive north on the range road 110 and then turn east at the T-intersection you can drive to the lake that way (there will be a farm yard at the end of the road)

Default Information on Chip Lake

I've managed to get my boat on Chip Lake in late May a couple years ago (before the weeds come up) and managed okay for Pike. As Biggie said, the lake averages 6' in depth and once June comes along the weeds are to the surface on probably 80% of the lake.

Deepest spot I marked was 13'... and that's near the SW corner of the lake where everyone and their dog ice fishes for burbot.
