Default rainbow report edm. area

first week of jan. i fished hermitage pond just to get my gear and proceduers together after a 15 year layoff. caught an 18" beauty the first day,got skunked the 2,nd day and caught 4 jan 6 all in 16"-18"range. ice 8" thick. on jan 9 i fished spring lake and got skunked but 3 other fellows caught a few each all around 12" and one nice 20". ice 12" thick from middle of lake to east shore. on jan 13 i fished salter lake and caught my limit in five hours but smaller size
, 9"-12". two fellows were fly fishing in the open area around the aereoter and one guy was catching every 2,nd cast which he released. he must have caught 30 fish while i was there. ice 3" thick near open area to 8" thick 50 ft. away. the lakes around edm. have'nt winter killed yet.

He's asking if you have had better luck fishing for trout rather than other species.

Wow 18 inch off Hermitage Pond??? I'd love to see a picture. I know when I was there I hooked a big one that I lost at the hole that looked bigger than the 16 inch I caught, but 18 inch is amazing for a stocked pond that is known to winter kill and the fish are supposedly stocked at 22cm of length. I'm also a little interested in your measuring of the ice because when I was there around Christmas and January 8th there was a few more than 8 inches of ice. So maybe you had a guesstimator and not a tape measure, haha. Just kidding, its a walk on lake anyways so ice thickness kind of not relavent anyways.

They must have stocked the Triploids in there this year, I have no idea how they got so big this year. Prior years I used to only catch the 12-14 inches, very large this year!

Default hermitage

they only stock 3000 and i bet a third or even half die from shock, and also the herons, pelicans and cormorants. this pond is very weedy so there is an abundant food source. i was amased myself at how quickly they grew over the spring and summer. by sept. they were averging 13-15". yes i do have pictures of all my fishing trips but i dont know how to upload them to my computer. i could send them to your phone. my #780-945-1668. good fishing to you.
