potential scam
Wondering if there is an email scam going around. I could not open one of my email addresses and got a notification my shaw account settings are out of date. So I got on a microsoft restore program which I thought was through microsoft and they asked me a bunch of questions to restore the account. The last question was they wanted all my credit card information and when I would not give that to them they said the service was full and I would have to reapply in 24 hours. Anyone have any insight into this but I will call shaw in the morning to see what I have to do to restore the account. I am still getting messages that my shaw account settings are out of date
thanks

Download Malware Bytes free trial. I believe it's 14 days. Easy to download. Easy to uninstall. Easy to use. Run a scan to see if it clears it.
Very good program.

Its a scam. Shaw never send emails like that, to my knowledge.
Microsoft doesn't "restore" anything, only updates when you want to turn off your computer. Just click on the button that says "update and restart". (or "update and turn off").
Hope this helps.

I seem to have trouble with the computer after I have ordered something from Amazon. I ordered some supplements for the dog and did not notice it was through amazon until they were delivered. Next thing I know computer problems.

Forgot to Mention..........
If you're using Shaw, sometimes you'll go to a website - and before it comes up, you'll get a popup supposedly from Shaw, that is a "survey" or something where you're asked to answer certain questions - and give some account information; and maybe some personal information.
Its another scam so don't click on anything.
When I see that, I hit the Back button and then clear browsing data.
Neat hacker trick, I wonder how many Shaw users fall for it.....

Nothing to do with Amazon. I’ve had literally hundreds of Amazon orders in the past ten years without a single issue. They’re likely coming from the conspiracy theory websites you’re on.

Websites?
Like the United Nations website for sustainable development?
I'm not sure you understand how this works?
