Default Kicker Mount options

I have a 20” transom on my 16ft Lund ssv boat but I have a available 6hp motor that’s a short shaft. Is there any kind of conversion plate available that anyone knows of that’s on the market that I could make use of this motor for a kicker ?

Would one of these do?

I have one on my 15' runabout, and use it for my trolling motor.

Look into a shaft extension kit for your 6hp. That way you can clamp it to the transom and don’t have to drill into it. Easier to connect it to the main motor too for steerage.

I just went threw what you are going threw on my lund with a 9.9
What I did was push the kicker to the far edge of my boat .
Only half of the prop was below the boat hull now.
I took it to Wab last weekend and it worked good .
No need for a long shaft.

I’m not to sure but I’m going to have to look into this and all the other mentioned options. I never worried about a kicker for this boat but I’ve been wanting to adventure north of fort McKay on the athabasca and I would ideally like to boat upstream so I could float home if I had motor trouble but this would be down stream and I would be way more comfortable with some backup . Thanks all

Good plan. There’s no place to pull a boat out once past Barge Landing. I’ve been about 3/4’s the way up to Chip a couple times and as far as going in into the Firebag River a dozen times all with no auxiliary motor but if something had happened to my main it would have been a bad trip.

I plunked a short shaft on my transom and tried moving it all the way over like you said. Still doesn’t seem far enough down for steerage or using reverse. How does yours steer?
