Nice! Pics or it didn't happen.
Glad it worked out for you. I would have went the Comox route as well.

True, he is very experienced in his trade. We were a little bit disappointed in how he handled the Cohos, didn’t want to use the net to get them into the boat so we ended up loosing quite a few of them right by the side of the boat… But it’s ok, still had fun and plenty of fish to bring home. Ended up with 23kg of fish( weighted at the airport). We thought we had more but hey, it is what it is!
Unfortunately, there were no halibut fishing in the Comox area. We were told that they just don’t come in. We really wanted try for halibut. Oh well, next year!

Salmon is the way to go if you want to keep and eat. If you want a real memory do the Sturgeon on the Fraser River. Your arms, shoulders back and hands will be sore for days after. Also the bruises on your body will be there for long time. I will never forget it. Also never forget the Salmon trip out of Prince Rupert. 4 of us 500+ lbs. of different fish species.

Thanks for the pics! Some nice looking fish there.
I'm curious, how big were the coho you were catching? Best guess.
And is that one day you were guided or two?

Two days of guided fishing. The biggest Chinook was 98cm and about 32lb. He was let go, along with a half of dozen others that were over 80cm long
Cohos were all in a 7-8lb size. We kept all that we could, had to let go the wild ones…

Sounds good. I almost forgot about the 80 cm limit for springs.
I know we typically fish in more of the open ocean or close to it. I think my wife would greatly appreciate an inside passage trip like Comox. Not that it cannot be rough but certainly not like the West side of the Island. I run a fly rod down the middle when we go for coho as well. That is just an added bonus!
Thanks for all info and report.

Very nice fish. Glad you had calm waters and a good bite.
