Most likely the majority of hunter's in Alberta aren't members here and the majority of the members on this site never bothered answering the poll

Not only is it more comfortable, when you do harvest something it tastes like it's supposed to. Nothing worse than gnawing on a rutted out old whitetail/muley killed during rifle season (have to mix with pork), shoot the same buck during bow season & it's a different story.

I've hunted with both since I started hunting at 12. Just prefer bow

I hunt with both - I'm more likely to be successful with my rifles, but I sure do love to take my bow!

Oddly enough my father switched to bow hunting as he got into is 60's weather is easier on him in the early fall months and no walking in knee deep snow with bad knee's. Myself I would say im 80% bow hunting.

Cool

I use both a Crossbow and several rifles.

The Bow sees more field days, and on average more kills per season than the rifles do.

In Grizz country, or in the case of hard to obtain draws, I do tend to lean towards the longer ranges the rifles afford.

Just a FYI, any posts that start rebutting , arguing or otherwise post disparaging remarks about whether or not cross bows "are , are not , should , or shouldn't be" will promptly disappear .

My interpretation of that poll indicates there are far more Rifle only hunters than Bow only archers. The majority use both. To what extent remains unknown.

I am mildly interested in bow hunting, and I actually potentially have access to a lot of bow zone land. But the bottom line is that I feel like I'm not a good enough hunter to be a successful bow hunter. There are years when I can't fill my tags with a rifle. It's really doubtful I'm going to stalk close enough to fill them with a bow. I have nothing but respect for bow hunters who consistently can.

90% bow. Rarely use a tree stand as most of my bow hunting involves calling them in to me during the rut on the ground.

Default Primitive hunting

I use whatever I decide on that morning, weeks prior etc; sidelock, flintlock, inline, crossbow, compound, shotgun. Centerfire rifle gets used but usually on the days that dip below 20 and even those days I'll be hunting with castboolits.

I hunt with both depending on the tag, season and species. Also muzzleloader if the season/regs require it. I'm about the hunting more than what I'm hunting with.

Coming from Saskatchewan I have spent a lot of time hunting with a muzzleloader. I'd love to see a week or two of muzzloader season between now and rifle here in Alberta.

I started bow hunting to extend my season close to ten years ago, now I bow hunt to avoid the heater hunters that drive the fields in there pick up scaring every thing off. I’ve been very lucky to have harvested most of my animals the last few years with a bow. I do hunt with both but like the bow better. I don’t support the bow only draws or rifle only draws as I feel it’s just another way to divide us as hunters.

Only rifle. I have respect for bow hunters but can't personally put the time into the practice needed to ethically bow hunt. I am embarrassed to say that I only made it to the range 3 times this year and one extra day target practice at hunt camp before starting.

I hunt with both. But I have never shot a moose or elk with a rifle and I havn't ever shot a deer with my bow. Kinda funny cause my bow fills the freezer and my rifle puts antlers on the wall. Lol maybe next year will be different.

Yes I agree.
The animal takes 1 step and it is a long search maybe for nothing

Ya that's the guys dressed in full camo so the deer cant see them.
