Awesome ram Phil! Did you see many other hunters out there with this tag? I hear you never seen much sign of preds, they are there maybe not enough gut piles yet to really drag them up the mnt.

All 5 guys were hunting in the same area as me and Luke. Both of us took our rams.
There was one more hardcore older guy that hiked a camp in there in the summer and has hunted there lots in general seasons and wanted a real big one as he has killed some very nice sheep in the past with his bow. He shot one a few days before the end of the season as the big ones never showed. His ram I missed a couple times earlier. It was a heavy broomed off ram that scored 176.
The other 2 guys did make an appearance. One guy only hunted a couple days from what I could gather and the other guy would pick and choose his day depending on if the wind was howling up top or not....... Both didn't kill as far as I know. The guide kept tabs on what they were up to but it didn't seem like they put a lot of effort into it which is kinda a p$ss off when you got a tag like that in my mind. Lots of guys would have given their left nut for that tag.
I don't think killing a sheep is all that tough up there and if you hunt them hard enough you will get shot opportunities but you need to put the work in. I had mentaly shut down a couple times as it was a roller coaster of a hunt. That wind makes a guy want to quit but I would say I had shot opportunities almost every day out there almost if a guy wasn't too picky on the type of ram he wanted.
I swore I would never want to do it again but if I had the chance I would in a hearbeat. I keep telling myself this is my last ram but who knows. It's in my blood and I guess a guy just needs to take a break before wanting to go on another sheep hunt!

Beauty. You 408 guys are supposed to chase the big ones over to the 410 guys on Pigeon. I saw three nice bull elk on wind ridge from my perch on Pigeon on the 20th. I could also see what looked to be sheep hunters trying not to get blown off the mountain a couple days.

I tip my hat to ya.
Have I hunted sheep?
Yes.
Have I killed one??
No.
I have guided many that have though, and what you speak of churns the fire once again.
Although I may never have one on the wall, I do have some pretty unreal memories of some unbelievable hunts.
Totally know what you speak of on the mental part of it Nube, congrats on a mighty fine ram.

Wow!!! Congrats.
When. I saw the title of the thread I thought it was someone showing his new jacked up Dodge. Lol.

My son and I were on Wind Ridge on the 20th. Never saw an elk, heard wolves howling below us but missed those bulls I guess.
