Default Green cart for carcass disposal

I thought I'd give it a go this year as they say chuck any food waste in it including meat and bones. They took it away head, hide, bones and all. Saved me a drive to the bush to feed the scavengers. Anyone else do this?

Its handy for magpies that fainted in my yard as well . Heck, they probably help out with the bacteria mix in the digestion process at the waste treatment plant.

Default Green cart

Not sure what city you are in , but in Calgary , " large animal carcasses " are not to be put in the green carts , but taken to a city landfill .
And tell them what you have , as it goes to a specific area of the land fill .

For any further info , go Calgary.ca and then type in " what goes where "

Just find a friend with a dog. All of mine get broken into smaller pieces and I throw out a bone every morning for the pooch to chew on. Keeps both of us happy and the magpies eat his turds off the lawn as fast as he drops them so it's a win for all of us.

I posted something about this maybe a month ago but I did follow the city of Calgary guide about carcass disposal. It was a waste of time and $25. Deer carcasses all go to the main fill anyways. After talking to then people at the dump I figure the head and spine should go in the black bin as they are concerned about the diseases in those and the rest could be broken down as small as possible and tossed into the green bin. That is my new plan from here on out.

Reciprocating saw, small pieces fit in the bin better. That's if you don't have a spot to feed coyotes and birds.
