Default Alberta referenced to US gun nuts!

Watched the Bill Maher show last night where they were comparing Canada to the USA in the way of healthcare and gun laws, and the amount of gun nuts in the states, a reference was made of Alberta compaired with Texas.

Small clip from the show http://www.mediaite.com/tv/bill-mahe...e-buying-guns/

Bill Maher is a far left loon, I think most people realize this and take anything that comes from him with a grain of salt.

Compaired to who Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck? I like his Teabaggers analogy.

Isn't that the show that last year some comedian made some sort of remarks about Albertans and he ended up cancelling some shows here due to personal safety concerns? I can't remember exactly what it was about but there was a big stink about it in the press and there was even a thread on here discussing it. Anyone know?

Oh, I know what it was.........they were joking about a General commenting that our Military needed a year with no missions in order to rest up and the day before we lost a soldier(s) in Afghanistan. It was pretty pizz poor timing and not taken as a joke whatsoever. Same show?

Maher's about as factual and reasoned as Beck (which is to say, not). There seems to be less and less room on TV for balanced, fact-based discussion.

And who's the Calgary whack-job on there? She sounds like she's 18.

Default just another

The guy is just another dope smoking barber starver that has zero understanding of how the world works and wants nothing more than to get backslaps from his lefty buddies.

He's a creepy old car salesman that's trying to sell an old failed ideology. Personally I find it disgusting how the left has no problem using totally apolitical deaths for purely political reasons. These clowns have absolutely NO care for a human life, unless it can be used to further their own political ideology.

Are you sure? I remember that it was some sort of a comedy show because the guest comedian had to cancel some shows in Alberta. I'm sure that fox news reported it as well though.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

I understand from the Adler show on Corus that Maher once claimed to be a libertarian when he worked for fox.

He was fired from fox and now has become a vicious liberal.

I don't think he's ever worked for Fox. I'd also point out that liberal and libertarian are not mutually exclusive ideas but I suppose that's another discussion.

I'm a fan of his show and not because I always agree with him. I mean, he's on the board of PETA... he's got some awful ideas. However, the show is unique because of the quality of the guests he gets. I think it's because he takes pains to make sure that his guests get respect whatever their opinions are and they get a fair chance to say their piece. Whatever the reason I don't see many other shows with that kind of diversity on discussion panels.

It's not often that I don't learn something from that show.
