Default Mathews Gets Caught...

and passed...wont be able to quote..." Catch us if you can" no mo...

"About 35 full-time employees were laid off from Mathews Archery, Inc., the
company confirmed to News 8 on Thursday afternoon"

This is what happens to a top company that doesnt listen to its shooters....

Sad to see and feel sorry foR employees with dream jobs...

For those of you who have Mathews bows ...not to worry ...unless they claim complete bankruptcy ...there is a lifetime warrenty...

Went from the only archery/bow company in the Fortune 500 Club to this...

Sorry to hear... My HeliM up for grabs...*Whistle*

A person needs some perspective with this as well. If they only had 40 employees this is a huge deal. If they have 1000 then it isn't really much of a story, it could just mean that they got a new automated piece of equipment.

Not surprising. They haven't been a contender since the switchback as far as I'm concerned. Ever since that damn Dave Watson said "340fps never felt so good" and I ordered a reezen sight unseen, I've never trusted him or Mathews. Bunch of liars!

I was curious so i looked it up, they employ over 400 people. With all the companies pushing the innovation nowadays and faster and faster bows its called put out what the public wants or some other company will be very quick to snatch up your loyal customer! Shame its usually the paycheck to paycheck staff that take the hit for upper managements mistakes.

I think most companies caught and past them long ago. I see at Accurate Archery, that Mathews are always on sale. Its like they cant give them away.

What are all the brands of bows that your carry now ? Just curious to see what you would consider the best up and coming Bow now, i know its a loaded question but you get your hands on most brands for some reason or another so your knowledge would be far over what "Joe Public" knows. Not trying to start a battle of the bows here just looking for good input.

That is a loaded Question...lol

As with most dealers/Pro shops... they can carry almost any brand out there, without naming brands we have carried all the top brands...and have worked on and seen flaws on all...

Certain areas of Alberta has brand clicks...central was one brand north was another and south was big on another...

Up to a couple years ago it was Mathews that we couldnt keep on the racks...
I shot and speacialized in mathews for 20 years...they inovated the market with many inovations that set the market on fire...

You asked what bow I "consider the best up and coming Bow now",
That hands Down is APA for many reasons...

They have the same top quaility bows as with all the big brands..
They are Canadian...so I support them
Parts are Virtually overnight, where I have waited 6-8 wks for top brand parts from south of border...
They have many inovations that many like...
Cost is reasonable and a good investment.
Customer service is second to none..
They listen to dealers and customers and will work with us.
Strings are better than most brand name strings...
Mathews for example inovated the string market with best strings in the world...but couldnt or wouldnt get the string servings right and issues were endless...
bows are very accurate and dependable...some of Albertas top competition shooters are shooting APA...
My APA AIR for $729.00 [price wasnt why I picked bow] can Robin Hood arrows all day long as good as any brand bows I have had at twice the price...speaks for itself...

And seriously for one on one with other brands I do so little warrenty work on APA bows its scary...quaility and dependability...

Not opinion but facts...
Not a sales pitch just answering a question honestly!!

Anyone have experience with Strother bows? I'd like to shoot something with a good hard back wall and real sharp valley. I find the carbon element to be a little soft with a wider valley.

Apa Viper nano is ready as backup, if the dxt ever needs the shop during the season.

APA is everything Neil said.

I have a strother infinity right now that i am looking to sell.

Very nice bow with tons of speed but feels good to shoot. I just prefer a short ata bow so i want to sell it and maybe try out the single cam apa air series bow.

Depends on how much your rifle is worth and if the bow comes fully setup! Do your homework before you trade away.

Pretty much sums it up...The Drenalin was an all time favorite, many of my shooters still shoot them and love them...few issues with them...
I would take the bow into a PRO shop and have it inspected and they can give you a value...

There may be hidden costs such as if your draw is not the same as what is on bow...the Drenalin being draw specific -you will need a new cam in your draw...Appox $75.00...if bow needs new strings $100.00-140.00...etc

The Creed from Mathews had almost identical specs to the Outback....

took a step backwards... they made the mistake of marrying themselves to a single technology (pun intended) which at first was great for marketing but then it became a boat anchor like many others.

Since one opinion was shared on APA I will share another....

I have not seen a lot of innovation lately from APA. Maybe a few cosmetic changes but no real changes.

When you see other companies incorporating new materials in risers, updating cam systems to incorporate an overdrive so that you get speed without losing brace height... AP just changes the flavor of Kool-Aid and everyone raves about it....

There are other bow manufacturers that are selling bows with newer technolofies in the lowr lineup for a more reasonable price!

Do you find it has a real locked in feel at full draw with a good hard back wall?

Ya the strother is as solid and locked in as it gets with a backwall.

Pm me with your location and if you are near me you can try shooting it.

Isn't success is more about the hunter than the bow? Even 1000 yr old technology is plenty to get the job done. p.s. I do love my APA!

x2 would like to see more from them. They have there name established which is probably the hardest step for a company and Kudos to them for that. Now I think there going to need to prove there ability to adapt and push there current designs to new levels.
