sockeye are back
just got back from Shuswap area and the Sockeye were there in droves . It's been 4 years since the big run and the fish are returning now. They are saying this could be the second best run and the bulk of it hasn't come up yet . Talked to my guy on the fraser and I'm pumped . Took a few pics but it's a pain to load them here .

I'm going to the fraser to fish from a boat . Dont think the salmon are any good once they've gotten that far into the run . As soon as they start to turn red we are releasing them as they aren't as good to eat . Fishermen are out in droves on the Fraser though , shore and boat

Just got back from the Fraser. It was crazy busy everywhere you went. Still don't get how people fish shoulder to shoulder on shore. Wow is all I can say

I guess that's why we weren't getting them on the salt chuck this week.

Everyone who complains about it being crowded here, needs to go experience combat fishing. One thing is you learn how to cast straight really fast

Combat fishing in Alaska and Scotland is brutal haha. You just catch salmon on yarn and no hook haha.

I quit fishing the Fraser for sockeye, for that reason, and I only live 10 minutes from it. Not a lot of fun.

slow day on idiot rock. I've seen as many as 13 guys with 10'+ rods on that ledge before. with another dozen on the lower rock.
only spot to hit the pool and be able to fight a spring before it hits a fast moving channel.
