Default freeman river

tried the freemana a couple of times now but havent beween able to hook a fish. see thousands of small inch 0r 2 minnows so i assume there are large fish there. have only fished from the bride on highway 658 through to about 5 km upstream. Any suggestion on spots or flies or lures to use. Mostly like to get into gralying since i have yet to catch one.

you might be a little far downstream to get into a lot of grayling. haven't fished that far downstream, but friends who have, say there are not a lot of grayling in that section. probably more pike than anything.

try the section at hwy 32 as there are lots of grayling in that section and some larger ones also.

bead head nymphs are always a good choice this time of year and should get you into lots of grayling and whities. Elk hair caddis's, stimultors, ant and blue wing olive patterns are also good to have along. but if the dry isn't working or not getting a lot of hits, switch to a nymph and hang on.

If you park at the bridge on highway 32 and go upstream or downstream u will find grayling but if u want better action find a oil road upstream of highway 32 were the river is close and hit it.......if u r upstream about 5 miles there is some good action and hardly any pike...............good luck
