Yup, was out today quading and well had a anul pucking moment as I rounded a corner near a beaver dam I sunk and pinned it for all that little Honda could do...30 yards of water and slush and well residual arse matter, man she was just below the seat in slush so I leaned back and pinned it at the same time yelling at the wife who was on her quad Noooooo......she heard Goooooo but saw what I was doing so turned around....called me a idiot....I never meant that one....trust me....

Be careful out there...cold, warm, and then snow on top of the ice......nothing has settled yet....-20 for two weeks would be nice.

Has anybody been out lately to know how much snow is on the lake? Just wondering how hard it would be to pull a clam out from the provincial park

I know some are out in English bay 70' of water and hammered them, 8" of ice they say so they walked out.
No keepers but lots of action.

Pushed my first foray by a month to make sure the ice is thick enough. I will be watching this closely. Pulling a trailer shack out and staying a couple nights. Please keep the reports up intensely interested.

Sure hope we get some more cold weather. I fish French Bay because it’s so much easier for me to get there. Fishing always seams to be better on the big lake. How do you get access to English bay?

Was out Saturday. Landed 9 in 3 hrs between two guys. Three over 75. Fished Frenchman bay. 15” of ice where we were. Very jagged ice chunks. Took it easy pulling my otter flipover and still took out chunks from the runners

I was out there last weekend. We started at the provincial park and punched holes every few hundred meters towards french bay. The ice was 12-15" all the way to french bay. As you near french bay the ice gets very jagged and the thickness is sporadic. At the very north end of french just south of all the jagged ice it was only 10" thick.

Saw lots on the sonar but only landed about 30 fish between the two of us.

Thanks for the update. Hopefully this cold stretch will make some good ice. Ps. Only 30 is an awesome day for this guy.

French vs main lake makes a big difference so 15” in French bay and 8” on the main lake would make total sense. Agree however always best to confirm with own eyes particularly on that lake?

snow was getting a little deep but we had some freezing and a couple warmer days so it packed down some so it is not bad should be no problem.

I want to take a weekend trip up to cold lake with some friends. Just wondering if anyone knows of any cabin rentals that are close to the lake. I looked on air B&B but there wasn’t much.

Not quite what you are looking for, but there is a thread on cold lake hotels. Might get answer if you asked about cabins specifically on that thread.

Anyone have any recent updates on ice conditions, wanted to take the wife up there this weekend but didn’t want to make the long trip if we can’t drive on.
