Default English bay access to cold lake

Does anyone have a report on the access to Cold lake via the old campground at English bay? I'm planning an overnighter on the ice next weekend and was wondering if I could get my 4x4 and utility trailer on there this year?

12 inches of ice and less in most spots, definitely not safe for a full size truck let alone a trailer. Heard cracking everywhere and seen many as well. This part of the lake is always sketchy and I'd avoid it unless you have an atv/walk on.

Default Ice access

I'm only looking to park on the ice RIGHT BESIDE the shoreline and skidoo from there. We learned our lesson about driving our trucks on there a few years ago when we dropped the front end of our truck into a big crack. There was a few thousand dollars in repairs to the truck and it took a couple years off our lives I'm sure!

I was out yesterday morning. Took my truck.
Numerous big ice heaves. Some good size cracks aswell.
22" of ice

Every year LLC has the same comment. Not sure why he stirs the pot but he does.

I've been told there are lots of heaves so be carefully out there.
