Bread.
Anyone tried the bread from Cobs bread? My wife came home last week with a loaf and wow it is tasty, soft, Fresh and no artificial crap in there but a bit more money than the bread that you buy in the grocery store that never goes moldy and has no taste.

It is good stuff for sure. Super expensive as you say though.

We’ll get some from there, our 9 year old has their cinnamon bread toasted for perhaps 1/2 of his breakfasts. I’m lucky that my wife enjoys baking, in her teens she worked at a bakery as a part time job and it’s stuck with her. Yesterday it was homemade bagels.

buy it for the wife...it does cost more but a loaf lasts her a week...happy wife happy life...its the little things that make a difference

Home made bread is the absolute best over all other kinds, regardless.
Especially hot and fresh.

agreed Home Bread is the way to go
Wife found a good bread recipe online which has less than ten ingredients in it.
usually lasts only 3 days in the house, eat it every morning.
make it in a bread machine and set it for 500 am. House smells like fresh bread when the timer goes off.
Tried eating store bought bread over the holidays, only use it for turkey stuffing now if I have to.

We stop in at the local one around once a week.
Tried some scones yesterday - so yummy! (and I'm not really a "scone guy"! )
Good, but expensive.
Our local one also is on SkipTheDishes - free delivery on orders over $20. That's a cool option.

Go buy a bread machine and make your own that's the way i do it.

And they give everything they dont sell in a day to charity.

We have one of those too, sometimes the loafs turn out well, the crust are usually tough and dry, and sometimes they turn out like hard bricks.
I think I’m better off to let a real bakery bake the bread for me.

Just pulled it out as i was in there to get my fish cake recipe and I always make to many mashed potatoes so the wife will use the leftovers to make buns. I'm pretty sure she knows I do it on purpose lol.
Potato buns
1 package active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1 cup milk
3/4 cup butter
1 1/4 cup mashed potatoes
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
8 - 8 1/2 cups of flour
2 eggs
1: dissolve yeast in water. In a sauce pan combine milk butter and potatoes. Cook and stir over low heat until butter is melted.
2: remove from heat. Place in a large bowl with sugar salt 2 cups of flour and yeast mixture. Add eggs and mix well. Cover loosely and let double. About 2 hours.
3: stir in enough flour to make a soft dough ( the other 6 cups you may or may not need the extra half cup depending on how much moisture your potatoes had you just gotta get a feel for it. That's coming from my wife. ) flour counter and kneed for 6 min. Put it in a greased bowl ( butter) and then grease the top of the dough cover and let rise till doubled. About 1 hour.
4 punch down and divide into thirds. On a floured surface roll each into a 12 inch circle then cut into twelve pie slices. Roll the pieces up and place point side down 2" apart on greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise 30 minutes.
5: bake @400f for 15 minutes.

Oh I forgot. The wife told me she doesn't kneed any nite she just uses her mixer with the dough hook.

Just use the bread machine to make the dough then bake in the oven. It works much better and you can crank out a lot more loaves in a day.
