Default Summer beaver

A friend of mine needs to get rid of 10 problem beavers on his property now
I don't know the whole story as I've been out of town working

My question is what can you use the beavers for in the summer I don't really have it in me to kill and animal and throw it away what a waste

The fur isn't worth anything at this time so I need ideas guys..

If your close to sherwood Park I would take them and use them for bait this fall if you don't want them.

The castors are good year round. Skin them and sell the carcasses to bear hunters.

I don't think you are required to skin problem /damage control beavers ..

Castor glands, carcass and skulls can be sold. Oil glands can be used for lures.
A summer prime pelt is worth maybe 5 bucks if there is even a market.
Pelts can be home tanned for utility use.
Tails can be skinned and made into nice leather quite easily too.

Nothing wrong with roasting the odd beaver too.

Sounds good man I'm super close to sherwood park, if I make it out to get them you can have them, too busy with work to do anything with them

K I am in for that. I think I can fit about 10 of them in my freezer. I may cut a few up for stink baits for wolves and throw them in some buckets in a couple months as well.

Default Beaver

You could always turn them into stew.

Thanks Moose Maniac. I figured real rotten the better for the wolf bait. I think for the marten bait I will just get it a little stinky and then freeze it.

If Waterninja wants the head then have at it. Someone might want the tails for some leather as well?
