Default Adams river BC

was a brisk -14 when we started out today. Not a single hit, but some pretty scenery.

How about changing your name to "Crazy Bugger" along the lines of "Wooly Bugger".

Question: Was there ever a steelhead run through the Adams River area?

And most important, thank you very much for the pictures.

My buddy/guide is a bit of a fly snob and is hardcore against beads haha but in prior weeks he had some serious fish on soft egg patterns. I went only one other time and had a fish break me off.

As for the steelhead, I don't know.

Don't let some one else's self deluded snobbery dictate how you fish,, the object is to enjoy yourself,, and catch fish... sorry, a bit of a pet peace for me.
I was on the Kispiox for three days earlier this fall and three people in our group flogged the water non stop with fly gear that produced nothing! The conditions were such that no matter what Skagit/sink tip "fly" lines were used no fish were caught. On the second day I switched tackle to match the conditions and caught fish, not many,, but unlike the others i didn't get skunked,,, and enjoyed myself,, There's just something about traveling that far and spending that kind of time and money that makes actually catching fish a lot more rewarding!!
You've got to remember that there are fly snobs who apposed the whole shooting head, skagit/sinktip evolution as being contrived and not true fly casting. Fish anyway that blows your skirt up and leave the fly taliban to their own self defeating mind set.

Should have fished beads, I was there a week ago and had 40+ fish days..... glo-bugs are dramatically less effective.... I stopped fishing glo-bugs about 7 years ago on that watershed

Greylynx; According to some publications there were some steel in the Adams in Haig-Brown's time.... every 5 years you will hear about someone plugging a really big rainbow or a small steelhead, but the general consensus is they are no longer in the Adams
