Hard to say, Aspen.
There is usually a delay between stocking and posting the reports. Might have already been stocked but not updated online.

I suspect this week.

Let us know if anyone hears otherwise.

It's a fun little local pond the first couple weeks before it gets poached.

Yep my bad I was actually looking at it last night so I still had the tab open so I copy and pasted it without really seeing what you were asking.

Ya Cranky. The first couple weeks is great with the fiesty little guys. Sad to see how some people treat the fish. I had guys question why I would release the fish after catching, even the super small ones. I just C & R nowadays, so it's frustrating seeing guys out there with multiple rods or going home to change their clothes and return to fish again after catching their limit. It's a great opportunity for families and kids to fish. Sad.

Had this conversations few times there, but probably applies most places.

Guy: "any luck?"
Me: "ya, caught 5"
Guy: "oh! Really! Let's see?"
Me: "I didn't keep them, I let them go".
Guy: (confused) "oh... you don't eat them from here?"
Me: "no. I don't keep any fish. I just like the fishing and being outside".
Guy: "oh, okay". (Walks away)

With the exception of Muir Lake, to my knowledge, the pothole lakes are all "put and take". The fish are put in them for people to catch and keep if they choose. There is absolutely nothing wrong with people keeping legal fish. I understand your frustration with "poachers" but they will always be with us. Just like drunk drivers, distracted drivers and speeders.
I also catch and release, but try not to get a holier than thou attitude.

Put this number in your cell phone: 1-800-642-3800 (Report a Poacher). A Fish and Wildlife officer will be out so fast to ticket an infraction that it'll make your head spin. And guess what, you get a percentage of the fine as a reward! Will pay the gas bill for your next outing!

From what I read last nite, they only have 60% of the normal number of fish available for stocking this year, due to whirling disease in some of the hatcheries. May well be some lakes not getting stocked because of that. They were looking at stocking only contained lakes because of it.

I've heard the same thing. This is truely unfortunate.
I'm unclear as to how easily the disease is transferred.
Is it possible to transfer the disease to other waters via boats, float tubes, waders, boots, etc.?
If so, then isn't it then also possible to transfer it from sub-surface flies such as nymph, leech and streamer patterns?
Any info would be appreciated.

I don't see this as unfortunate at all, because ACA/Alberta Parks have been overstocking for years. An occasional winterkill or reduced stocking is a good thing to thin out the herd. It allows more food/fish thereby growing bigger fish, albeit fewer of them.

I would rather catch fewer bigger fish, than to catch bucketful of stockers all day.

Huh? How about no fish at all!

What evidence do you have that backs up this comment?

In the 2017 stocking report I can't find Winchell Lake listed under Sundre. This years report has 7 pages and 2016 was 24 pages.
Am I overlooking something?
Thanks in advance,

Time ... it hasn't happened yet. It will be updated as they stock. It's not a calendar of when they will stock.

Quite often while still watching the poachers.Get to know your local officers when you see them, I've now got personal cell #s of several and they will always show up if not on another call somewhere You will get the reward usually within 4-6 weeks.

Like Raven Brood Station on Facebook. They list the plans for stockings ahead of time. They are further postponing some stocking due to ice and water temperature.
Not sure about the northern hatchery, but likely going to be late as well.

Any Southern folks know if Beaver Mines has been stocked yet... wasn't as of last week according to the report. I thought they typically did it in the spring.

Any word on the Hermitage Park trout pond in Edmonton? Nothing listed in the stocking report and no fish seen last time I was down there.
