Default Opening weekend spots

hey guys, new to the forum. Wanting to go out for the opener this year but conflicted as to where, livingstone? catarct? looking for somewhere i can camp also. any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

My advice would be wait and be flexible, mid June conditions are very unpredictable. You could have anything from high, fast and nasty to low water. dry fly action. I would go as far as to say anything up to mid July is just as much a coin toss.

I don't fly fish for trout a ton until water levels go down and clarities improve which is usually mid July. In the mean time there is great action on the reservoirs that open on May 8. You can throw streamers for pike and walleye or nymph for lake whites. Keeps me entertained and busy so I don't even miss fishing for trout during that period.
