Default Nice Looking Hackles On This Raven!

Theres a plentiful and cheap supply for anyone interested... on second thought you might want to stick to road kill though, I think theyre protected (might be wrong on that).

Im all about alternative sources for materials and thought those breast feathers look like really nice quality hackles... anyone ever use them for feathers?

IMO it's a shame they're protected.They are killers,of so many things smaller than them.Song birds,game birds..They're protected because they eat carrion,etc.

Check your hunting regs. They're protected on public land - but not on private.

Not fully protected. Can hunt em as pests on private land. I kill a few every year before we start calving so they don't get any smart ideas.

I prefer Starling hackles - they make a beautiful replacement for Jungle-cock feathers, and are an invasive species that can be hunted anywhere - any time!

If you happen to have any spare, I'd trade you for some elk or Moose mane ;-)
