Top Lot Coyotes May 2014
So I was looking at the first coyote lot 492001, and they didn't look like the best ones of the sale, then along comes this tall stature, balding Alberta fur buyer who kindly pointed out to me that the best coyotes are tucked away in the catalogue at 492178... And he was correct. 492178 is the top lot, no SSL Pale grade coyotes on this sale.
Reports are that this sale is going to be a quiet one. The ranch mink are selling but are very soft compared to last year. There are a few Chinese buyers, but from the sounds of things, only a fraction of what was here last year.
Talked to one very knowledgeable guy who's been hanging around the sale for days, said that all of the wild interest revolves around the coyotes and the bobcats. I seen quite a bunch of folks around the red fox, most action on the cats and coyotes. Expect the coyotes to have decent interest, but expect much of our wild goods to be soft, even little interest.
Anyways, you might as well recheck your accounts to see if you have a top coyote.

Maybe check my post #17 , May 10 on the other thread about what I thought constituted a top lot . I always thought that top lots had to be selects , curious why they wouldn't have placed them at the number one listing . Looks like we both had it wrong as you thought there weren't any selects either . when you said in your post #28 that this 429001 was top . Oh well , still hope everyone has a good sale .

If it's anything like Marten and fisher, it will cost some tears.

Who knows anymore Peter , I figured they had to be selects and usually they are listed as first lots to sell . Mine was listed in that first bunch of 54 , I found selects listed back down in about 178 so I didn't know for sure until Marty said that 001 was top lots . Hoping they sell good where ever they are .Looks like skrats took a bit of a dive , but $9.32 still not bad .

I'm not expecting much from my yotes as I only have 5 in and the highest grade was II. I hopefully break even for the license/membership costs and my snares.....I'd be happy with that. If not, as a rookie I'll consider it my tuition to become a Trapper.....lol. I hope that things go well for the rest of you fellas though.

Yup, they need a fur buyers license though.
