Canada takes gold at the 2016 Commonwealth FlyFishing championships.
The event just wrapped up in Mont Tremblant, Quebec. Canada White took the gold medal. Scotland silver and Australia team gold took Bronze. Canada Red needed up in 7th. Well done Canada!

I don't compete and never did have any interest in competing in fishing competitions but I certainly do like to follow them informally sometimes and hear results .
The level of commitment needed to be competitive at that level for any sport is
Beyond huge and to be able to medal in the top three is great, but gold!!??

there's a comp in Calgary coming up I think, find the Southern Alberta Fly Fishing League facebook page. There's also a Central Alberta League and I'm assuming northern as well.

I seem to remember catching more bulls than you the last time we went out....
also whitefish are wonderful fish for competitions because when you find one in your beat you can generally find 19 more and proceed to rack up the points
