Default Bull trout fly

Here is a great bull trout fly I tied last night looking forward to getting out fishing. This fly has caught me many bull trout, not to mention cutties and browns I use it almost exclusively when targeting big bulls though. Its easy to tie and works try it out.

Nice looking fly. Sometimes I put something beside the fly to give it some persepetive. A toonie works good or a pen.

I like the looks of it. it would be easy to make and would look good in half a dozen different color combinations.

Damn, now you got me to set up the vice which usually happens in June!!!

Bought a feather duster from a little store because they didn't have any swiffers. Some feathers are about to be pulled from it.

Thanks a lot.

Its worked pretty good in the past. The fish on shore was quickly released it flipped on to shore while I was trying to get a pic of it in shallow water. I have more pics of bulls around here somewhere

The big ones get big for a reason I'm hoping I can figure them out this season.

That picture gives a very good perspective of just how big the flies are. Nice stuff.

I have found that the larger bulls like a large white/black or white/olive clouser. I tie mine similar to yours. But with a bar bell head to get them down. Then I have the white on top and the black on bottom (Hook side). With the bar bell eye's the fly flips upside down in the water and keeps the hook away from dulling on the rocks. But adds enough weight to get it down.

I usually use white polar bear. It has a nice iridescent sheen to it. Then either a black or olive green zonker strip.

Nice bulls...and that fly looks good too..I saw an article last week and it showed just about the same fly, but the body was orange to imitate a small cutt.
Heres my bull charm...
I also use size 2 hooks.
Cant wait for june 16!!!

You have to work at it to catch those bigger ones.
