Default Drying up?

Very briefly seen a picture this morning (4:15 am) on the weather network channel on cable TV of the South Saskatchewan River and they said (without going into detail) that with the lack of rain this year and others that it is starting to dry up in certain areas. No location added. Has anyone also heard of this. Just wondering if all those who frequent that river system have noticed a significant decrease in the levels in your area. Are there islands and sand bars appearing that were never visible before? If so, what will that do to that fishery that contains sturgeon and of course other species?
