Call Lawrence at Accurate Archery. I know he had a halon 6 there last week, and was expecting more later.

You could try Gord at Big Timber in GP.

Big timber is back ordered on halons as well. I guess they were a bigger seller than Mathews inticapated.

Maybe, I have read about the same delays in the US on archery talk.

Default Halon

Was at Accurate today and shot the Halon 6 in 75% let off and 85% let off. 75 had a really short valley and wanted to jump forward. The 85% on the other hand was really nice and the draw cycle was great. Pulled at 70lbs and found it almost as smooth as my Alloy. Matthews might have turned things around after the last couple dud years. Lawrence has 6 Halon 6 but no Halon 7's. Lawrence has no 7 on order because the Mathews rep stated that when customers are shooting the 6 and 7 side by side, the 7 wins about 1% of the time.

Would like to get the halon7 need the 32 inch draw length. Seems really hard to get one.. Not sure why manufacture have new bows and cant get them to there dealers. Had the same problem when i wanted to get a 360 . Well i guess it just like hunting patience will prevail !!!!!!!!

You might be better off going to one of the mentioned dealers and get one on order. If the reps are telling the shop owners that 99% of the time the customer chooses the 6, quite likely no one will bring any quantity of them.

Or the Mathews Rep simply may be pushing the 6's ..as many would pick the 7 over 6 speed being equal

Can you explain how the speed would be equal?

I spent a few hours at Lawrence's shop today playing with the Halon 6. Definitely an improvement over the HTR, both in draw cycle and speed. The one I shot had the 75% mod, nice draw but there's no relaxing at full draw. I imagine with the 85% mods it'll add a bit of a dump into the valley, but it'll be a little more relaxing to shoot.

It's a Mathews though, so you can expect the draw length to run a bit long and the IBO to fall a bit short. All in all a nice bow though, and in my opinion a much better bow than the HTR in all aspects.

Second nicest bow I've tried this year I think.

Well yah....but realistically a Halon 6 and a Halon 7 would never be the same speed, otherwise what is the point of the 6??

IF the speed was equal...who would buy a 6?

A lot of the newer short brace bows are actually still very forgiving, so the speed wins out when compared to the slower higher brace height bows.

There is a thread on AT titled "show your Halon." 14 pages long and I made it to page 7. Saw 20+ pictures of Halon 6's and not 1 Halon 7. Rep might not be full of baloney!

Played with the 7 about a month go...not a bad bow actually. Neighbor owns it. he hadn't finished setting it up yet, so I couldn't shoot it.

The first 2 pages of the "Buy and Sell" on Archery Talk are filled with used Mathews for sale. Looks like the die hard Mathews fan boys finally have something worth while to upgrade to!
