As long as you have permmision to be on land and/or are not in city limits ...thats what we do!

legal wise- Yes
Carry some Judo points and "stump shoot"...great practice

There is a small game list that one doesnt need a licence for ..Porcupine, rabbit, etc and other animals on private land that one can harvest without licence if permmision is obtained..Squirrel, badger, fox, coyote, even bear [With written permmision] etc at all times of the year!

Crown land we call it stump shooting, private land obtain permission.

Good way to get really familiar with your gear too.

I've been wondering, why do we need written permission for beaver/coyote/etc, but not written for big game?

They are considered destructive nuisance or problem animals that require control or management...deer or big game can be also considered in this catogory...but they are darn tasty and considerd a food source taken under a wildlife licencing system..

Some big game need written permission on private property also...depends on landowner...same as beaver coyote etc...
