I just don't understand why people feel the need to move perch and pike around when there are plenty of places you can catch them already...
I only became aware of people actually doing this by being on here,,, perch I can understand (not condone) How it would be done but how do you just go out and catch a bucket of pike? Even a small pike takes up a chunk of room and you can't catch we'll say 50 and then just run them over to another lake that could be miles away??

You would be surprised how long 5 or 6 hammer handles can stay alive in a rubbermaid tote....only takes an idiot or two with an agenda to make a pike lake close to their house...

Where there is an idiot...there is always a way. Funny how someone could be smart enough to illegally transport fish...yet to dumb to understand the consequences first.

Still...education is the key my friends. The more we talk about it...the more it becomes common knowledge.

Here is the point about pike I was trying to make last night about the size of prey they will go after.... I went fishing tonight to try a new streamer pattern. As luck would have it! I hammered a really little fish on a really decent size streamer.....the tail of the streamer extends to my fly reel.....basically about half or more of the pikes length.....

As you can see this little pike would have no issues going after a 5-6 inch trout IMHO....

Another pic of a bit better one....

By the way in 2 hours I landed 9 pike and lost a few and had a few short swirls....the new pattern is a Winner!! All fishing right at a boat launch....other guys came up with spinning gear and not a single hit....

That pike can actually eat a trout 2/3 to 3/4's his/her length.

You should be careful how you post your jokes. There are people that may not readily pick up your sarcasm and in fact take your post at face value.

clearly you have not done this...some people made same jokes about participating in the Vancouver riots and are not happy with the negative impact on their lives as a result of a joke gone bad.

Just a thought.

My point exactly Sun......the pic is a response to the quote above from the OP. This pike was small and he would indeed go after trout if given the chance.....hence showing even more how important it is to NOT transplant species to areas they do not belong or are not intended to be transplanted to....
