Hmmmm nice way to flame a good fisherman like FH7. I have had several long conversations with FH7 and he is a stand up guy who has the talents of catching some very impressive fish as his pics prove it. He has even invited me to join him on a fishing trip to his secret spots (blindfolded of course lol) So instead of constantly jabbing him, be a respectful fellow fisherman, have some class and applaud his pics and posts. He is quite a nice fellow if you would take the time to get to know him instead of bashing him. So show some class fellows.

My biggest bow river fish was a 33" rainbow caught at Mackinnon Flats....

just went down on Thanksgiving a few years ago as a very new flyfisherman and it was blown out from flood that year and I was in Sunday go to meeting best clothes and I cast in and caught afew small ones on a prince nymph. I sawa good rise way down stream, I cast into the current, let it drift down into the hole and then OI saw it rise again then it launched into the air... All I could think of Man that fish is a tank, I wish i could catch one like that... then the line went tight.... I t jumped again and I new it was mine... It pulled into the backing. I did not even hesitate... into the water I went in october...It was a bit deeper than I thought... It was up to waist and COLD!....I am sure some body parts were shrinking or trying to head north but i did not notice... 25 minutes later she came to my hand... I marked my rod (no camera on phone then) A couple of folks were there and admired her as she revived in the current. She slowly swam away and turned downstream headed back to the hole.

I measured the mark on my rod...33" exactly... she was an absolute tank and while not my biggest rainbow ever from a river it was the biggest I have ever seen or even heard from the Bow. and I got it on a 4/5 weight with 5 lb tippet. (I used flourocarbon 5lb fishing line for tippet)

I wish I had a picture!

Perhaps I should have written, "Heavy K hooked into an absolute cranker on Bow".

More of a glass half full scenario.

Bow meets the oldman at what's known as the forks and thus becomes the mighty south saskatchewan.

pick someone that you trust,, send them the picture and they'll upload it for you. Don't pick me, I use the older upload method.

Yep. Cutts and Rainbows, Rockies, Bulls, Brook trout and Browns, and Arctic Char.... and pike.

I'd like to do a bit of "steelhead" fishing in early spring just upstream from Glenmore.

Have you actually seen an Arctic Char there? I didn't think any where found in the beaver ponds or the river when it was sampled. We did get some delivered to our lake for a few years while they were being grown at the farm.
