Default Work

Unfortunately when you work in retail everyone else likes to shop on weekends. The good side is my weekday weekends , no fighting for campsights, no waiting at boat launches and the lakes have no one fight for fishing spots. The other tuff thing is to get together with the groups. This time is going to work out as I am on holidays that week and was going to PCR anyway. Yahoo.....

I'm going to try to make it down there. Carter and I are going fishing this afternoon so I'll see if I can convince him to come along. All I'll need is a spot to park a tent and a cooler.

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Should do a pot luck dinner on Saturday night.

Default Great idea

One of the things we have been known to do is a fish and chips night. Big bag of potatoes cut into fry size and the fish cut into size dipped in beer batter and deep fried. That is how we do our family fish fry winter Burbs from PCR and have been known to do a few pike that way as well. I have a big 3 burner camp chef stove plus I am sure there are others we could do that as well. If we fish hard and serious during the day I am sure we could all catch a few for a nice dinner.

So is it the 18th for sure the day/night for the get together? Not sure if we're camping though, depends on who's going and what the availability is We'd probably head down with the boat Saturday afternoon.

Talked to jts1 about the weekend get together and it is set for the 18th. He is looking into the group site at the campground. I am planning on tenting it from Friday night to Monday and my girlfriend and her brother are coming as well. Hope to see you all out there for at least Saturday and a nice dinner and get together.

OK cool. If there will be a group site area, that'd be super fun. Then we could stay over night a drink beers and tell fish stories....sounds good to me.

This is a great idea guys, I had a blast at the spray lake AOF on the hardwater. Good job Jeff for starting the post. I would love to make it but I am already planning on camping down in Cypress Hills.

Count me in next time though!

Default Group camp

Just remember if the group camp is a choice it is not on the lake. It is down the road and down the hill at the end of the lake. It is not that handy for boats or easy access to shore or dock fishing. Just a great place for a party....

I can't seem to get a call back on the group site. I understand its not right on the doc but its still only 3mins away and would be much easier than tryn to save a bunch of campsites. And just all of us in a area to ourselves would be good. Does anyone have an issue with the group site? I am going to drive down there again tomorrow and look at the site and cost.

Well I think the group site is the way to go providing we have enough people. I just want to make sure that I have somewhere to put my tent for a couple days so I can have fun and have some beers, socialize with the other members and catch lots of fish.

Default I am in!

I just got in from BC and Jasper but please count me in. I will go down Wed the 15th. I will need to know where this place is. Anyone who wants to send a tent with me (St Albert) can do so and I will put it on a site for you. JTS I need room for a 29 ft trailer and will bring my little jon boat (us St Albert guys are not wealthy Calgarians so do not have the big units) (LOL).

I have the cell number of Daryl the camp guy that looks after the group site. I just have to dig it up. He told me last year that it is 20 buck a night per unit. I would just drive over as a couple trailer units of us are there from the Wednesday to Wednesday but would still be part of the fishin. The group camp if you have not checked is below the beach area corner of the dam. Let me know if you need his number as I have his cell and office in the trailer.

You will need a site on the 15th for your trailer ? Or will be there the 15th and just need spot on 18th for gathering. Just look on my google map for location

Bear with me as we can't find his card at the moment. We are looking but it's not where it supposed to be so maybe a hunt is in order. He keeps his cell on all the time in case of problem campers so you can call him. I will let you know....
